FAQ

Can I call the API from a browser?

No. Your key would be visible to anyone using your site. Call the API from your server and keep the key in an environment variable.

Are jobs deduplicated?

Each job is one posting on one employer source, with one id per country view. An employer that publishes the same vacancy on two systems (say, its ATS and its own career site) can appear twice; we keep both because each has its own original link. Use exclude_source if you only want one system for an employer.

How many values can a list parameter take?

Up to 100 per parameter (organizations, sources, ids). Use organization_advanced for broader matches.

Can I search for special characters, like C++ or .NET?

Search ignores punctuation: C++ searches for c and .NET for net. Combine with other words to narrow results, e.g. "c++ developer".

How long can a request take?

Job pages normally return in well under a second. Requests are stopped after 30 seconds (60 for counts and expired ids) with 504; narrow the time frame or filters, or use cursor pagination.

Do expired jobs ever come back?

Yes, if the employer re-opens the posting. It returns with the same id; treat it as new if you already deleted it.

Where do salaries come from?

Only from the employer's posting or ATS. We never estimate pay. See Job fields.

Why is a job I see on the employer's site missing?

It may have been posted in the last hour or two, sit on a board we haven't added yet, or list only a location outside Canada and the US. Tell us the employer and we'll look at its source.
